Welcome To The
Greater Ossipee Area Chamber Of Commerce

The land defines the character of Carroll County. Ancient glaciers scrubbed the surface revealing rounded mountains of granite, but thousands of years of water action has blessed the valleys with fertile soil for agriculture and forests. The remnants of an ancient volcano, and one of the largest glacial erratic boulders in the world, both lie within the boundaries of Carroll County. The land provides jobs, views, and recreation for the residents of the eighteen towns that comprise the county. Visitors appreciate the open farm land which affords colorful views of the forested mountains.

Mission

Our Mission

Stimulate economic, cultural, and recreational interest by promoting member organizations and governmental bodies who share our mission while striving to improve commerce by providing visibility for our members and the community at large.

In particular, our Chamber consists of Ossipee, Effingham, Madison, Sandwich, Tamworth and Freedom.  Generations of travelers descend upon the area year-round, the greater Ossipee area is a time-tested destination for our guests who wish to be close to the action, yet comfortably off the beaten path. Our natural beauty and many outdoor recreation opportunities keep us in “peak season” year-round, rendering your favorite excuses arbitrary at best. Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall offer their own charms, and we take pride in the memories we’ve seen come from our beloved lakes, forests and campgrounds. Those with less of an outdoor appetite will be charmed by local artisan shops, original dining experiences, and an untold wealth of history and culture.

We take unwavering pride in being a place where everyone is welcome.

We have lived here, worked here and built the greater Ossipee area into something we hold near and dear, as a community. It is our greatest joy to share the place we love, and bring people from near and far to our own backyard, year after year, to slow down.
