Members present: Steve Sousa, Bill Grover, Anne Ward, Joe Costello, John "Sez"

Steve called meeting to order at 5:40 p.m.

"Tuition Assistance" of $500 for Katelyn Amaral to attend Green Peace Camp was discussed and voted on unanimously by the board.

(Next meeting for the Economic Committee is March 19 at Northway Bank)

Steve asked for 15 or 20 minutes to talk after the meeting tonight.

Treasurer's Report: Bill gave the Rock Maple Racing (RMR) income statement; he suggested getting sponsors way ahead of time for next year's event. Joe said Steve, Bill, and Ken D'Amico were out making snow all night for many nights and more than 75,000 cubic yards of snow were made. Tickets sold the first day totalled $800 with 1,500 people; More than 700 paid tickets sold on the second day. Total spectators were about 3,000; there were 200 racers, but some signed up more than once. Vendors all over-ordered. Ossipee Concerned Citizens (OCC) only made $$60 for the turkey dinner. It should not be held on a Sunday night but rather a Monday night instead. OCC entered the chowder contest, and nobody told them that it had been cancelled. Then they showed up with chowder.

MOTION made by Bill to give $200 to OCC, which Joe suggested by changed to $250, and to give $250 to Ken and Scrub Oak Scramblers for their help; vote was accepted unanimously.

MOTION made by Steve to have RMR to come again next year, seconded

Bill asked to have a new events insurance carrier chosen for next year, maybe one that is not local.

Steve suggested creating a medical insurance committee

MOTION by John to take out a full page ad in the newspaper saying "Thank you from the Chamber" and "Save the date '08" Brought to you by your GOACC. John said he would check the cost.

There will be 2 ads, one on the 17th in the CDSun (full page) and one on the 22nd (1/2 page) in the CCIndependent.

MOTION for publishing ad not to exceed $500; seconded

Bill asked to change the bank accounts to a closer place. Joe said, "The treasurer should be allowed to do that." Northway will be the new account. Joe will set it up with Bill.

John passed out literature about RSN TV 16.

Responsibilities for Administrative Assistant; Lori Lenart will be the new part-time (temporary) administrative assistant at 32 hours a week at $850/month.

The next After Hours will be held at Hair Etc. on March 14; April after hours will be at the Ossipee Historical Society, May's will be at Bearcamp Gardens

The office for the chamber will be at Bill Grover's building on Main Street.

Steve spoke to Kitty (from Sammy's) about becoming a board member.

MOTION to adjourn made and seconded.

The next meeting will be on April 4.
